My Bio
I'm a twenty-something student with a love of costuming, cosplay, and all things fabric. I've been involved with hobbyist costuming for a good seven or eight years now, which mostly means my want-to-make list increases in extreme disproportion to my time and budget. I believe in cosplay as performance art, combining the best elements of street theater, visual art, and nerd love for a new and interactive medium. My cosplays draw on both reference art and historical costume design, incorporating a wide variety of textures and decorative details.

Time has this icky habit of speeding up right when you want to slow down and savor the moments. These past few months have had their share of milestones: starting junior year of undergrad, and landing my first real writing job! On top of all that, I'm still hanging onto to cosplay goals and a schedule that slates my group, #Cupcakes-in-Corsets (https://www.deviantart.com/cupcakes-in-corsets), for Anime Vegas in November. If time wants to slow down to let me sew, that'd be great, too.
Lately my focus has been all about the costumes, especially for Cupcakes. I started costuming in high school, living play to play in the drama department's sewing room, and there's nothing like the camara

It's going to be a busy year. I have a full time job in a school, which is exhausting but easily one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. For those not in the know, I'm also a full time student. I'm taking a poetry class this semester, and while I won't be sharing any class poetry online to avoid problems with the college, I hope to write more and better poetry that I can share here for your entertainment and criticizing pleasure.

Never a Dull Moment

I have one week of freedom left before fall semester starts. I am spending it with my beloved sewing machines.
Lynzie and I decided about a month ago that we wanted to go to Saboten-Con, and as Easter Ciel and Lizzy from Kuroshitsuji. Since Sabo is a little more than a month from now and the Easter costumes are fairly involved, I've been doing a bit of sewing.
